Evaluation Task 4

The audience for my media product would be for 15 year olds and above. This is because any age younger may get mentally affected by the film as they may find it too scary or start copying some actions they see. However, when you're 15, you should be able to realise it's just a film and that anything that happens in the film is for pure entertainment.

It's not rated a 12 because there are knives being involved as a weapon, and at such a young age, you couldn't trust a 12 year old with seeing such things because they may copy it. There are gruesome moments in our film involving blood. However, its not rated an 18 because there is no seriously bad language used, however, there may be disturbing sounds for a 12 year old. The film as a whole doesn't endorse discriminatory language or behaviour. Drugs are not used in this film, and it no way does it encourage the use of drugs, therefore it's not rated an 18.

Dangerous behaviour, for example, suicide, is not showed in this film and therefore can't be copied by 15 year olds.

There are no displays of nudity in a non-sexual or educational context, therefore it shouldn't be an 18.

There is strong threat and horror which is allowed for a film rated 15 but not allowed for a 12 rated film.

There are no strong gory images and Strong sadistic violence. Sexual violence does not occur in this film either.

These are the reasons why the film is suitable for 15 year olds and above.

Scream 4 grossed $38.2 million in the United States and Canada and $59 million in other territories for a total gross of $97.1 million, against its budget of $40 million.

The film was released in 3,305 theaters on 4,400 screens and grossed over $1 million in its midnight previews. It made $8.7 million on Friday and $19.3 million in its opening weekend, finishing second at the box office. According to industry experts, the film's opening weekend was "disappointing," experiencing the second-lowest opening of the Scream franchise. In its first weekend worldwide the film took $37.3 million from 30 territories, behind only Rio which took $53.9 million from 62 territories. The film topped the box office in the UK taking over £2 million, came in second in France, third in Mexico and fourth in Australia In its second weekend in the United States, it fell to fifth place, taking in $7.2 million.

This person is my target audience as we are targeting between the ages of 15-24. This person is also a male as most people who watch thrillers are male. He could also see the thriller with his friends which is what we will be hoping for.
